Countryside Veterinary Services
This is where I fell in love with mixed animal practice. Before coming here all of my experience with veterinary clinics had been divided into small animal and equine only facilities. Here they do it all! I visited during my vet school summers and completed an 8 week preceptorship during the spring of 2016. During my time spent here I was fortunate enough to work with many great doctors. I worked closely with Dr. Becky Lillard and Dr. Monica Webb.
Dr. Lillard taught me many things while I was there. She was always teaching and quizzing me. If I did not know the answer to something she would have me research it and report to her the next day. It really made the learning experience more powerful. She also is great example of what it means to work hard and take pride in what you do. Her work ethic surpasses expectation and she inspires me to always find a way to improve.
Dr. Webb came to work for Countryside after graduating from the University of Tennessee. She has dedicated herself to high standard of medicine that rivals many referral clinics. She is not board certified in any one field but she has made the commitment to always remain at the top of her game. She taught me a lot about medicine, but mostly she taught me the value of self education. It is my responsibility to continue learning and not to just rely on others to teach me.
