Kristy Pilkerton

I am currently an active member of the Lee County Community Emergency Response Team. We have been trained to provide assistance to others in our neighborhood and workplace until first responders can arrive. We may also be activated by first responders to assist in disaster management in our community and surrounding areas.

 

Growing up along the Gulf Coast, natural disasters are a seasonal occurance. I always took great pride in cleaning up after hurricanes because it was my home. Working together in disaster situations strengthens the bonds of community. So for me, continuing to find a way to be of service to my community in the event of a disaster just comes naturally.
